Hi guys

I am looking at getting a board. Read a few of the posts about boards etc so go t some idea of
what I am looking at.

That being said i don't have an enormous budget at the moment.
I would like to do mostly freeriding and maybe venture into DH depending how
brave I feel and how good my medical aid is. ;D

What sort of board should i look at. Seen the landyachtz and boards on the shop site.
They look cool but might be a bit pricey right now.
Saw boards at Cresta, Sector 9 and Globes also. Thats kinda what got me interested
as I was Christmas shopping.

I am in Jozi so would dig to hook up with some guys if possible in the future
I have asked to be added to the Joburg longboarders on FB. So pls accept me.

My reason for wanting to longboard is that I can't surf in Jozi so...
I used to skate street and surf so this seems like a good natural progression.
Also i reckon it might help my surfing or lack thereof.

Schweet.

hi dom. welcome to the forum. i would suggest hooking up with the guys and going out for a sessoin with them. ride a couple of different boards and see how they feel. longboarders are usually a very helpful bunch.

i'm sure the guys will add you soon to that group. i know a lot of them are on holiday and they're probably not close to a pc right now.

Hi Bjorn

I actually went on the FB longboarders group so got good advice there.
I bought a sector 9 Shaka. Might make it a drop through depending how
the skating progresses.

Need to start riding it though now and the weather has been a bit dodge.

Will hook up with some guys in the new year.
